About JEK Writes

This newsletter is written and updated by Jessica Klimesh (she/her). As both a writer and professional editor, Jessica is immersed in some aspect of the writerly life on a daily basis. With JEK Writes, she hopes to offer insight and encouragement to other writers navigating the often-complex world of writing, revising/editing, and submitting work, while also keeping up with trends in the broader literary world.

Jessica Klimesh

Jessica’s creative work has appeared in dozens of literary journals, both online and in print, including Brink, Cleaver, Atticus Review, trampset, and Ghost Parachute; several of her stories have been nominated for awards. She is currently working on a collection of linked flash-fiction stories, a collection that started out as a novella-in-flash. Working on this project, she has been reminded again and again of the utter flexibility of fiction, as well as the necessity to be flexible when writing (and editing!).
